Yoshiaki's Story
I never imagined I would become a tea farmer. Growing up, I watched my parents work tirelessly in the fields, and I chose a different path—spending 20 years as a teacher. But as my father grew older, I felt the responsibility and the pull to continue my family’s tea tradition.
When I started, very few farmers practiced pesticide-free cultivation. Still, I was determined to create tea that was both safe and genuinely high in quality. Over five or six years, I borrowed land from my parents and slowly developed my own methods, guided by a simple belief: plants grow best when they are in harmony with nature.
I want my tea plants to grow happily, and I want the people who drink my tea to feel joy and peace in their everyday lives. That feeling continues to guide everything I do.
Today, my work focuses not only on elevating the quality of organic, high-grade tea, but also on creating a satoyama community where farming itself can be enjoyed and shared. My tea is a reflection of this journey—an invitation for anyone seeking a calm, harmonious life to find a moment of happiness in each cup.
