Kenichiro's Story
I have always wanted to bring joy through tea. To see young people, even children, enjoy it casually and feel a quiet happiness in every sip—that is my deepest wish.
At Minato Seicha, our story goes back to the Ansei era of Japan. For generations, my family has devoted itself to crafting tea with uncompromising dedication to quality. Using methods that have been passed down and refined through time, we harvest each leaf at the very moment it reaches its peak, allowing the tea to express its true character.
Our home is Wazuka, a small town in southern Kyoto known as the heart of Uji tea. Though Wazuka produces only about 2% of Japan’s tea, it is one of the nation’s most celebrated regions, blessed with landscapes and climate that give birth to exceptional flavor. This place is not just where we grow tea—it is the soul of what we create.
Every day, I think of how to share the essence of this land. Tea in the morning, at noon, and again at night—it can be a gentle rhythm, a companion through the day. Our mission is to let more people discover the genuine taste of Uji tea, a flavor born only here.
With pride in our craft, gratitude for every encounter, and faith in the timeless joy that tea brings, we at Minato Seicha offer you a cup of tea unlike any other.
