Presenting WTEA at Minna no Yume AWARD 16
We had the opportunity to present WTEA as a finalist at Minna no Yume AWARD 16, one of Japan’s largest social business pitch competitions.
The event was held at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo and brought together entrepreneurs from across Japan who are working on business ideas that aim to create positive social impact. The competition focuses on discovering and supporting social entrepreneurs whose ventures combine strong business models with contributions to society.
As part of the final stage, a small group of selected finalists presented their business visions on stage in front of judges, partners, and an audience interested in the future of social innovation in Japan.
During the pitch, we introduced WTEA, a direct trade platform designed to connect independent Japanese tea producers with international cafés, tea stores, and buyers. The platform aims to improve global access to Japanese tea while increasing transparency around origin, cultivation practices, and the people behind each tea.
Participating in this event was a valuable opportunity to share our vision with a community of entrepreneurs, investors, and supporters who are committed to building businesses that contribute to a better society. It also reaffirmed our belief that Japanese tea can play a meaningful role in global conversations around culture, sustainability, and craftsmanship.
