We visited Matsubaya Saryo in Tokyo, a teahouse pioneering a groundbreaking approach to modernizing the way tea is enjoyed. While deeply respecting tradition, they beautifully embody the spirit of “Shuhari”—preserving, breaking, and transcending form—to reinterpret tea culture for the modern era. We were deeply impressed and inspired by their philosophy, which strengthened our own resolve to carry forward and evolve the rich heritage of Japanese tea.
